Research:
An important facet of the Institute's core mission is to conduct research on governance and disseminate the findings to the public. To accomplish the need of a diverse groups of audience, the main research work of IGS are segmented into three basic kinds; analytical review of the governance situation, applied research on different public institutions and to conduct research on Bangladesh Parliament and parliamentary activities with an aim to improve the capacity of the Parliamentarian.
The State of Governance in Bangladesh:
To provide a critical and analytical investigation of the governance situation of Bangladesh, each year the Institute conducts research on state of governance in Bangladesh. This research specifically aims to study important policy decisions, public institutions and public issues from ‘governance’ perspective and provide thorough and systematic diagnosis of the scenario. This analytical work allows the Institute to compare and assess and document changes over time.
The results of this on-going research are articulated mainly in the form of annual report named ‘The State of Governance in Bangladesh’. This report is the flagship publications of IGS and from 2006 to 2009, three reports have been published.
